IIDS library is an exclusive research and reference library having a large collection of books, government documents and publications. Besides books on various social science subjects, the library has a good collection of statistical publications and survey reports: National Sample Survey Organization (NSSO), National Family Health Survey (NFHS), Population and Economic Census, and Economic Survey.    The library has a comprehensive collection of books on Dalits and Dr. B R Ambedkar The library also has working paper, occasional papers, discussion papers of other organization and institutions.

All the library functions are fully automated using library management software. Bibliographical details of library collections are accessible through Online Public Access Catalogue (OPAC) within LAN.
